Saint Anthony College of Nursing Legacy Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Legacy Scholarship Endowment Fund, now in excess of $1,218,000, is the result of several bequests, memorials, gifts and pledges from individuals and organizations.  Alumni of Saint Anthony School/College of Nursing and their families and friends, families in the Rockford Diocese of the Catholic Church, members of the college Board, administration, faculty, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center employees, Auxiliary members, and the Golf Committee were among the Fund's contributors, as were the area's other hospitals.

Included in the Fund are 40 Named Scholarships ranging in individual value from $5,000 to $390,358 and totaling $1,054,994.

One of the scholarships, named in memory of Sister Mary Linus, OSF, the former Administrator of the School/College and in honor of alumni, is available to support students pursuing the Master of Science in Nursing degree designed to prepare future mursing faculty.

Income from the Endowment Fund will continue to grow.  The Fund is designed to meet students' financial needs as the College's undergraduate enrollment increases from 160 to 200.  One of the goals of the College's expanding programs is to address the increasing need for professional nurses throughout the region and nation.

New recipients of the Saint Anthony College of Nursing Legacy Endowment Scholarship are:

Jemma Atterbury
Jeffrey Boyd
Kayla Chavers
Chenin Congrave Rude
Sarah Clark
Julie Long
Vickie Meador
Vanessa Monk
Hannah Mueller
Fiona Okoroti
Alicia Schmidt

OSF Saint Anthony is the only Rockford medical center to earn the elite Magnet designation for nursing excellence.  It is the highest award for nursing available in the United States.
