College of Nursing Poster Study Earns Achievement Award

Saint Anthony College of Nursing instructor Teresa Allen, MSN, RN, and nursing students Brianna Sehr, Allison Gilbert, Chelsea Derrington, Tabitha Gardner, Danielle Parisot, Lori Heuser and Lindsey Mockmore-Bennett were presented with the Certificate of Achievement Award for the People’s Choice Poster at the poster session presentation at the Illinois Nurses Association (INA) 3rd District Annual Nurses Expo. Offering a number of educational sessions in which participants share information and build relationships, the Nurses Expo was held March 25 at Giovanni’s.

The poster, titled “What Do You Want from Me? Bridging the Gap Between Faculty and Student Expectations,” is on display at the Saint Anthony College of Nursing library. The poster was designed as a formal assessment of the student experience and faculty-to-student relationships to predict student success and retention.

Saint Anthony College of Nursing Associate Professor and Dean of Undergraduate Affairs Elizabeth Carson, EdD, RN, CNE, and Assistant Professor Susan Black, MS, RN, presented a poster in the competition titled “How Much and Where: Assessment of Knowledge Level of the Application of Cricoid Pressure.” Saint Anthony College of Nursing Assistant Professor Dauphne Sims, MSN, RN, presented a poster titled “Post-Partum Depression in Low-Income Urban Women.”

Saint Anthony College of Nursing instructors Sally O’Meara, MSN, RN, and Theresa Thompson, MSN, APRN, CPNP, presented a poster in the competition titled “Undergraduate Nursing Students in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Mock Codes: Collaboration for Enhanced Learning.
